A Day in the Life of a Product Manager

What does a typical day look like for a PM? Well, it’s a bit like herding cats while riding a unicycle—challenging, but never boring. Let’’s say you're a PM for a ride-hailing app like Uber. Here’s a snapshot of what your day might look like:

1. Morning Standup:

You meet with your development team (who might be spread out across different countries) to check on progress. Is the new feature to show drivers in Accra their exact earnings coming along? Are there any bugs that need fixing in the app’s latest update in the U.S.?

2. Customer Feedback:

Next, you dive into customer reviews. Someone in Germany complains about long wait times for taxis, while another user in India praises the new safety feature. You jot down the feedback to figure out what can be improved or celebrated.

3. Feature Planning:

As time to think big. You meet with your design and marketing teams to brainstorm what’s next for the product. Maybe you’re considering adding a new payment method for users in Southeast Asia, or perhaps it’s time to update the interface to make it more user-friendly in Europe.

4. Data Analysis:

Finally, you check the data. How many people in the Philippines are using the app? Are people in Nigeria completing more rides since the latestupdate? The numbers help you make informed decisions on what to do next.
